The right book will find you

The right book will find you

Reading · Growth · Life & Purpose

Every book on my shelf has been personally chosen because it holds something valuable – a new perspective, a moment of recognition, or the quiet reassurance that you're not alone. Read at your own pace, and let the right one find you.

Here are six I return to, often:

  • Hormone Repair ManualLara Briden. Clear, compassionate, evidence-based. Essential reading for every woman navigating perimenopause and beyond.
  • Four Thousand WeeksOliver Burkeman. What if, instead of trying to do everything, you made peace with the limits of your time? A book that gently changes how you think about what matters.
  • IkigaiHéctor García & Francesc Miralles. A quietly profound exploration of finding your reason for being – perfect for anyone feeling a little lost, or ready to live with more intention and joy.
  • The 5 Love LanguagesGary Chapman. A simple idea – that we each give and receive love differently – that has helped millions of people feel truly seen.
  • The Stoic ChallengeWilliam B. Irvine. Ancient Stoic wisdom translated into something warm and usable for everyday modern life.
  • Man's Search for MeaningViktor E. Frankl. A book whose quiet power stays with you long after the last page.

The quote

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.

– Viktor E. Frankl

The reflection

What book is on your nightstand right now – not the aspirational one, but the one you have actually been reading? When was the last time a book changed how you saw something?

The action

Pick one book from this list – or a different one entirely – and read just the first chapter this week. Don't commit to finishing it. Don't worry about retention. Just spend twenty minutes in it.

Sometimes the right book finds us. We only have to be open to receiving it.

More titles are added to the Guided Growth shelf regularly. Tell me what you're reading – I'd love to know what's currently changing how you see things.
